On October 18th, HPB celebrated 30 years, and a movie seems to play in the minds of all company members, especially two employees who have been part of the team since the beginning.
One of them is Denise Furlan, while the other is Oseias Oliveira.
Oseias joined HPB in November 1994, the year the company was founded. In this interview, he shares his initial expectations, the company’s evolution, and advice for new employees.

What year did you join HPB? What were your expectations at the time?
I joined HPB in November 1994. My expectation was always to grow and develop professionally along with the company.
At that time, which office were you working in?
When I was hired by Mr. Pizzo, one of our founders, HPB didn’t yet have its own building. Initially, it was just Engineer Jorge Otsuka and me, working in a partner’s office. In March 1995, we moved to an office in the Palácio Comercial building downtown.
HPB has changed a lot over the years, both in physical structure, business scope, and number of employees. What was it like to witness this growth?
I feel honored to be part of this story and witness the growth of this renowned company. Initially, there were only two employees (Denise and I) alongside the partners of HPB, so there were several phases of growth and achievements over the years, always with solid foundations.
I have always been proud to work for this company, to learn and grow professionally alongside great professionals from our region, and to experience major achievements throughout these years.
How do you feel when comparing HPB from the time you joined to today?
Every beginning requires effort. Overcoming inertia is the greatest challenge for any company, and so it was with HPB. At first, everything was simple but organized; resources were limited, so the team had to find ways to get things done efficiently.
Today, there are abundant resources, both in physical space and modern tools, machinery, and employees with expertise in various areas, a strong technical team ready to meet client demands. HPB is experiencing exponential growth.
What innovations or changes do you consider most impactful for the company?
I consider a landmark the relentless pursuit of new technologies, the forward-looking market vision, and anticipating client needs and expectations, who always seek more modern, reliable, and efficient equipment that provides greater ROI.
What motivated you to continue working at HPB?
I have worked with many HPB professionals since the 1990s, always in Engineering. I started as an administrative assistant, draftsman, estimator, budget engineer, in sales and purchasing of spare parts, and finally as a buyer.
I am grateful to HPB for trusting my work and for the growth opportunities I had over the years, which motivated me to stay with the company.
Do you have any special memories related to HPB?
One particularly memorable moment was when Mr. Osvaldo Pizzo invited me to return to HPB. At the end of 1995, I was interning at another company, but when I received the invitation, I had no doubt — it was one of the best decisions of my life.
Beyond enjoying working with the HPB team, there was a special touch: having lunch every day with my mother (in memoriam), who passed away approximately two years and four months after my return, a fact that marked my life deeply.
What advice would you give to new employees joining the company?
We live in highly competitive times, so being chosen to work and collaborate with a company like HPB should be considered a privilege.
No matter your position or role, always do your best, as your work will be recognized at the right time. Remember that the steps you take today can define your future tomorrow — this reflection is my recommendation.
What do you expect from HPB in the coming years?
I consider HPB a visionary company, with qualified professionals focused on new trends, whether in technology, new markets, or potential clients. It is a company poised to continue growing and evolving in new technologies.
New opportunities will arise and will certainly be evaluated and processed solidly and consistently, conquering and exploring all possibilities and challenges, further consolidating its brand and contribution to society and the environment.
Would you like to add any other comment or information?
Throughout these nearly 30 years of collaboration, I can only reaffirm my gratitude to God for every moment I have spent at HPB.
