HPB’s 30-year history would not be the same without the presence of skilled, dedicated employees working for the company’s growth.

Some of them have been part of HPB’s journey since its very beginning, such as Denise Furlan, one of the first employees hired.

In this interview, Denise shares her view on the company’s growth over the past 30 years, her experience working at HPB, and some memories from this period:

ree

What year did you join HPB? What were your expectations at the time?

I joined HPB on April 1st, 1995, six months after the company began its activities. I came from Zanini, where I had already worked for several years with Mr. Renato Malieno Nogueira, one of HPB’s partners. My expectation at the time was to continue working as the board’s secretary.

Back then, in which office did you work?

I started at the Palácio Comercial building on Rua Aprígio de Araújo. Later, we moved to the “houses” on the same street, where the administrative area was just myself and Oseias. We shared everything, even grocery shopping, making coffee, etc.

HPB has changed a lot over the years, both in physical structure, business scope, and number of employees. What was it like to witness this growth?

The changes were indeed quite significant, and adapting to all of them was a challenge — after all, it has been nearly 30 years. At the same time, it was a privilege to be part of it all.

How do you feel when comparing HPB from the time you joined to today?

As I said before, I feel honored to have been part of this journey and to witness all the well-deserved growth.

What innovations or changes do you consider most impactful for the company?

I believe every change HPB has gone through has been important and, at the same time, a challenge. Recently, for example, we experienced a management transition, which is a longer process.

What factors motivated you to continue working at HPB?

It’s hard to highlight just one or two factors. For me, HPB is like an extension of my home… I would even dare to say it feels like family.

Do you have any special memories related to HPB?

I have many special memories, some good and others more challenging. On the positive side, I recall moving to the new headquarters and the creation of HPB Energia — achievements I am proud to have witnessed, even if only in a small way.

What advice would you give to new employees joining the company?

Take advantage of everything HPB has to offer, because the company truly offers a lot. HPB provides opportunities to grow, acquire knowledge, and learn in different areas. Especially for those just starting out, I see HPB as a school — both professionally and personally.

What do you expect from HPB in the coming years?

That the company continues to grow and provide opportunities, as it always has, and that I may have the privilege of being part of this family for some more time. e indirectamente, pero que forman parte de mi día a día. Agradecida por el cariño de todos hacia mí. En resumen, cierro con la palabra que define todo esto: ¡gratitud!

Would you like to add any other comment or information?

Just that I am very grateful for all this time and for the opportunities I have had and continue to have. Grateful for the people I work with, both directly and indirectly, who are involved in my daily routine. Grateful for the care and kindness from everyone around me. In short, I close with the word that defines it all: gratitude!
