The new cycle of the HPB Trainee Program allows recently graduated professionals to gain a comprehensive understanding of the company.

The beginning of 2025 also marks the start of a new cycle of the HPB Trainee Program. The initiative enables engineers, both graduates and students in Mechanical, Production, Materials, and Mechatronics Engineering, to build a well-structured perception of the company’s culture and essence.
The new trainees officially started in January, and the group consists of: Lucas Costa Mamedes, João Roxo Nogueira, Edgar Matos Shimosono, Felipe Ayosa, Ian Hori de Oliveira, and Anderson de Araujo Antunes Quintas.
Over two years, the group of mechanical engineers will rotate through different areas of the company, gaining experience and knowledge in all departments.

For Lucas, the opportunity to access the various project stages is excellent for an engineer’s development: "From the first lecture, I noticed that HPB covers multiple stages of the final project, giving us a unique opportunity to apply the knowledge we gained at university and learn engineering in practice, which I am very interested in."

Since starting work at HPB and becoming more involved with the boiler universe, João has realized that it is a complex but very interesting field: "We will have the chance to spend two years fully focused on learning, going through different areas and following the complete boiler manufacturing process. It is definitely a unique opportunity."

Edgar agrees and highlights that everyone at the company has been very helpful in answering questions and providing support in various ways: "I didn’t know much about the boiler segment, but I am excited to learn more and know we will have the opportunity to understand everything. It’s great to work with people who not only have extensive knowledge but are also happy to share it."

During university, Felipe never imagined entering the steam generation sector, but he was immediately interested in HPB: "Being here is almost like taking a course because we are learning all the time. And having the chance to connect with this sector in a company that represents the elite of steam generation is a privilege."
Throughout the program, trainees will have regular mentoring sessions with leaders from different areas to exchange experiences and encourage personal and professional development.

For Ian, the mentoring sessions are excellent for gaining a more complete experience: "Each area is very distinct from the others, and being able to learn not only from daily work but also from the experiences and knowledge of senior HPB professionals will definitely add a lot."

Anderson believes one of the greatest advantages of the program is the opportunity to have closer contact with the company’s top management: "Talking with the founding partners, who were responsible for building all of this, is a very valuable opportunity. They have a wealth of knowledge to share, both technical and life experience."
