Usina São Fernando

Rotating Grate

To meet the increase in sugarcane milling to 4,000,000 tons and the significant rise in power cogeneration, Usina São Fernando purchased from HPB a second boiler for its industrial unit in Dourados - MS.

The facility already operates an HPB boiler under the same flow, pressure, and temperature conditions.

Technical Features

Natural circulation, single drum boiler, convection bank with plain tubes, superheater divided into two modules—the first in counterflow and the second in parallel flow to the gases—suspended by a steel structure and furnace built with membrane wall tubes.

Rotary grate for ash discharge, allowing the burning of sugarcane bagasse with mineral impurities as high as 30 kg/ton of cane.

Grate composed of two cooled central bearings, one front and one rear, with all others completely external to the furnace.

Heat recovery carried out through two economizer modules and three air preheater modules.

A low pressure venturi gas scrubber ensures low particulate emissions with reduced circulating water consumption.

Location: Dourados - MS - Brazil

Operation: June / 2011
