São Martinho I
Bubbling Fluidized Bed (BFB)
To meet the demand for high-pressure steam production for its new thermoelectric power plant, Usina São Martinho chose the HPB/B&W Bubbling Fluidized Bed technology for its new power boiler, to be installed at the Pradópolis, SP unit.
This technology not only ensures the burning of sugarcane bagasse with the highest efficiency in the market (above 99.5%), but also does so with the lowest environmental impact, i.e., reduced CO, NOx, and particulate emissions.
The steam generator acquired represents state-of-the-art biomass combustion with extremely low environmental impact.
Technical Features
Natural circulation boiler, single drum, convection bank with plain tubes, superheater divided into two modules (the first in counterflow and the second in parallel flow with the flue gases), suspended by steel structures and furnace built with membrane wall tubes.
Bubbling Fluidized Bed system, using sand as inert material, with fully open bottom design, allowing complete removal of foreign elements such as stones, metallic residues, and others, with sand classification and return system to the furnace.
Bed temperature is controlled by the combination of primary air and flue gas recirculation.
Heat recovery is carried out through an economizer, installed at the boiler outlet, followed by an air preheater divided into two (2) modules. A gas scrubber, installed before the induced draft fan, ensures particulate emissions remain below 200 mg/Nm³.
