Odebrecht Eldorado
Bubbling Fluidized Bed (BFB)
Odebrecht Agroindustrial, as part of the expansion project of its Eldorado – MS unit, with a planned cane crushing capacity of 6,000,000 tons per harvest, signed a supply contract with HPB for the implementation, under EPC regime, of the largest biomass boilers ever produced in Brazil.
Each boiler will have the capacity to produce 400 t/h of superheated steam at 545 °C and 105 bar pressure, obtained from the combustion of bagasse and sugarcane leaves. The boilers are part of a 175 MW power plant equipped with back-pressure turbines operating 4,432 hours during the harvest season and a condensing turbine operating 7,615 hours annually.
The total power generation will be 950,000 MWh, of which 710,000 MWh will be exported to the national grid.
The basic engineering of the power plant is being carried out by HPB and includes a high-efficiency thermal cycle with regenerative heaters.
Odebrecht Agroindustrial has 11 boilers with HPB technology in its units, totaling more than 2,500 t/h of steam generated in conventional grate-firing boilers.
For the Eldorado expansion, the chosen combustion technology is Bubbling Fluidized Bed, guaranteeing combustion efficiency above 99.5% and biomass moisture content up to 65%.
