Bubbling Fluidized Bed (BFB)

Seeking a solution for burning its high-moisture sugarcane bagasse, Guarani S/A, at its Cruz Alta unit, chose the HPB/B&W Bubbling Fluidized Bed (BFB) technology for its new power boiler.

This boiler will supply the steam required by the industrial unit, using sugarcane bagasse derived from diffuser extraction.

Technical Features

Natural circulation, single drum boiler, smooth tube convection bank, superheater divided into two modules – the first counter-flow and the second parallel-flow to the flue gases, self-supported structure and furnace built with membrane walls.

Bubbling fluidized bed, using sand as inert material, with a completely open-bottom design, allowing full removal of foreign elements such as stones, metallic residues, and others.

Bed temperature controlled by a combination of primary air and flue gas recirculation. Heat recovery through an economizer installed at the boiler outlet, followed by an air preheater divided into three (3) modules.

A gas scrubber, installed before the induced draft fan, ensures particulate emissions remain below 130 mg/Nm³.

Location: Olímpia – São Paulo – Brazil
