Citrovita
Bubbling Fluidized Bed (BFB)
The company Citrovita, orange juice producer, completed in December 2010 its first harvest season using HPB/B&W technology for the combustion of sugarcane bagasse and/or orange bagasse in a Bubbling Fluidized Bed (BFB) system.
As it is not a sugarcane bagasse producer, Citrovita sources its fuel from several mills in the Catanduva region, receiving both mill-extracted and diffuser-derived bagasse.
Operational results demonstrated high availability, above 98.5%, and reliability for burning sugarcane bagasse with high moisture content, greater than 60%.
During this first season, the boiler successfully operated with bagasse stored for more than 12 months, freshly received sugarcane bagasse from the mills, bagasse with high fines content, and long-fiber bagasse from diffusers — in all cases showing performance beyond contractual expectations.
Operation and efficiency tests confirmed reliable performance with moisture contents up to 65%, achieving combustion efficiency above 99.5%.
