Alunorte
Circulating Fluidized Bed
The company Alunorte - Alumina do Norte do Brasil S.A. began an expansion project in January 2006, aiming to implement two additional process lines, increasing the plant’s total processing capacity to 6,320 tons per year of alumina.
Technical Features
Natural circulation boiler, Single Drum, with partition walls, heating wing walls, superheating wing walls made of smooth tubes, suspended on a metallic structure, and furnace constructed with membrane tubes.
Circulating Fluidized Bed with furnace temperature control achieved through two-stage inert material recirculation: first inside the furnace via U-beams, and second through the ashes collected in the multi-cyclone located at the boiler outlet.
Heat recovery through an economizer, bag filter for particulate matter collection, and continuous flue gas monitoring system.
